Case Study / Club & Lounge
A complete system for a low-ceilinged club with a wide stage, installed in just 7 days, in time for opening night.
Project summary
- Challenge
- A 19m-wide stage, a 3.9m ceiling and a short installation window raised the risk of dead spots, ceiling reflections and low-end phase misalignment.
- Solution
- Coverage simulation; Main, Outfill and Infill zones; stacked sub clusters; phase, crossover and limiters aligned on the DSP.
- Result
- The listening areas are clearly divided, and the protection settings let the operating team run the system consistently.
From First Survey to Handover
01 / Diagnosis
When we took on DOM Club in 2019, Mr. Giang, DOM Club’s co-founder, put us under enormous time pressure: the entire sound system had to be installed and ready to run in just one week to make the fixed opening date. The ceiling was low (3.9m) but the DJ stage ran a full 19m wide, and a High-Energy Club format demanded powerful bass SPL without harshness or ceiling reflections that would bother guests.
02 / Engineering decision
To handle the 19m width, we used EASE to calculate coverage and spread the rigging points evenly, avoiding any local build-up of power. The Main L/R system hangs one Verity Monster 4-Way cluster on each side (its Low section with four 12-inch bass drivers) as the main sound axis, plus one compact Verity Monster cluster aimed outwards for Outfill coverage and one 12-inch point-source speaker on each side to eliminate dead spots at the VIP tables. The subwoofers form a Ground-Stacked Vertical Array of six 21-inch subs, three on each side right under the Main clusters, with coverage checked in the listening areas; vertical stacking does not eliminate ceiling spill. On the YME Audiotechnik DSP, together with the Midas console and Smaart v8, we set a 4-way active crossover, time-aligned the Sub and Low sections to within a millisecond, and locked Peak/RMS Limiter thresholds to reduce overload risk within the agreed operating limits.
03 / Verification and value
Thanks to accurate 3D simulation before we went on site, installation and tuning were completed within the 7-day deadline. Sound on the Main Floor and in the VIP & Lounge is even, with deep, punchy bass that never feels oppressive or boomy. The system ran without a single glitch on opening night, and has stayed reliable for years with Tony Lab Audio’s regular maintenance.
“With you (Nhan Tony) supporting us, I don’t have to worry about the sound any more!”
The Project in Pictures

01 / 02 — A lively weekend night at DOM Club, with light effects and a packed room.
Before and After
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Low-end phase & pressure | A 19m-wide DJ stage prone to phase cancellation (out-of-phase), leaving the bass hollow in the centre | Phase Alignment between the 21-inch subs and the Main speakers; tight, powerful bass with even coverage within ±2dB |
| Amplifier protection | Risk of driver burnout if the DJ pushed the volume too hard on opening night | Two layers of Peak/RMS Limiter locked on the YME Audiotechnik DSP, removing the risk of signal clipping |
| Delivery schedule | Extreme pressure to open within one week, with a high risk of delay | Survey and 3D simulation in advance, and final on-site tuning completed within the 7-day deadline |
Frequently asked questions
What does the YME Audiotechnik DSP do in the Verity Monster 4-Way system?
The YME Audiotechnik DSP manages the entire active crossover (4-way), aligns the delay between the speaker sections and sets two layers of amplifier protection (Limiter), so the speakers run reliably at high power.
Is one week of installation enough to optimise the acoustics of a High-Energy Club?
Yes, when 3D simulation in EASE is done beforehand — fixing the rigging positions and crossover settings on the computer first greatly shortens the measurement time on site.
Can Tony Lab Audio survey at short notice before an opening date?
You can get in touch through the Contact page to discuss the current situation and your timeline directly; Tony Lab Audio always surveys the site before confirming whether that schedule can be met.
